Cooing and screaming brimstone missives at its "massive" live shows, Krylls is an apparition to behold. Without much patience for the latest in fashion, the band hopes to coax its way into your heart with the aid of a battering ram.

Having survived the post-hardcore era and countless passing fancies in recent punk rock history, guitarist Sean Allen and bassist Josh Garrett-Davis take a broad, anything-goes approach to heavy music. The result is a melodic adventure that can be delicate but still grab you by the throat. With Josh and Sean commanding the vocal pulpit, performances become grisly polygamous marriage ceremonies that wed gospel and the Texas boogie to the vitriolic lash of hardcore in a stripmall church where punk, metal and psychedelic collapse into a meth-hungry stoner's wet dream of redemption.

Sean (a misanthropic philanthropist) and Josh (a folk singer!?!) come to the city from small-town U.S.A. Krylls has graced audiences in NYC since 2005 and will soon come to a basement temple near you.

Call it contrapunk, neo-grunge, paleo-hardcore, sensitive stoner metal or post-biker rock, but it's a hell of a ride.
